A recently added, grid-based WordPress theme, Studio 960 by Cudazi that looks quite nice and offers lots of scope for making it your own. A quick, inexpensive way of getting a clean, bold site up and running if you fancy it, too. I just thought that this kind of design might appeal to a few of my readers.

Khoi Vinh discusses the reasoning and the design evolution behind the release of Basic Maths, a WordPress theme designed in conjunction with Allan Cole.

“There’s a good reason for this: over the years, I’ve been asked countless times by others if they can use the Subtraction.com ‘theme,’ even though none existed — even if it did, I would have been inclined to say no, wanting to preserve its uniqueness for myself. So when I sat down to design Basic Maths, the aim was to create something that would satisfy this desire to have something Subtraction.com-like in the marketplace — not a clone, but a reinterpretation.”

Khoi Vinh, of subtraction.com fame has created a beautiful grid-based WordPress theme called Basic Maths. To be honest, I’m surprised he hasn’t monetised the plagiarism long before now.

Basic Maths has been developed in conjunction with Allan Cole of fthrwght.com, in a similar vein to Allan’s fantastic new theme, Neutica+. The beautiful theme offers clean, well-commented code that is rich in Microformats, and designed on a comprehensive layout grid.
